Tiles Survive! is a survival strategy game from FunPlus International AG, and it sits comfortably in the base-building plus hero-collection genre that has become so popular on mobile. You can grab it on Android through Google Play and on iOS via the App Store, and it first launched in 2024. Since then it has picked up millions of installs, which says a lot about how hooked people get once they start. The download is free, and while there are in-app purchases, you can absolutely play for a long stretch without spending a dime. The shop bundles range from a couple of bucks for a small pack up to around $99 for the big whale-tier offers, so it scales with how deep you want to go. There is no PC or console version as far as I can tell, so this one is a pure mobile experience through and through.
Playing Tiles Survive! boils down to a loop that is easy to learn but sneaky addictive. You explore the map, gather resources, expand your base, and recruit survivors and heroes to push further into the wilderness. Combat is light and auto-driven for the most part, which means you spend more time planning and managing than tapping frantically. The best part for me is the exploration side. Every time I clear a fogged tile and see what is hiding underneath, I get that little rush of discovery. My favorite thing, honestly, is hopping in for a short session, knocking out a few upgrades, and feeling like I actually made progress. It respects your time if you let it, and that is rare in this genre.
If you have played State of Survival or Last Shelter: Survival, you will recognize a lot of the DNA here. The difference is that Tiles Survive! feels a bit more relaxed and less punishing in the early game, which matters when you are just trying to figure things out. Compared to those older titles, the tile-based exploration adds a fresh layer of curiosity instead of just dumping you into endless timer waiting. I recommend it because it is friendly to newcomers, does not shove ads down your throat, and runs smoothly even on older Android phones. If you are tired of the same old zombie survival grind, this one is worth a shot.
features
- Tile-by-tile exploration 🗺️: You reveal the map piece by piece, which keeps every session feeling like a small adventure rather than a static base screen like in State of Survival.
- Hero and survivor collection 🦸: Recruiting a roster of characters gives you flexibility in how you build your squad, and the variety beats the narrower starting lineups in many similar titles.
- Manageable time commitment ⏱️: Compared to Last Shelter: Survival, the timers here feel less brutal early on, so you can make real progress in a quick session.
pros
- Beginner-friendly onboarding 👍: The first few hours walk you through everything without overwhelming you, which is more than I can say for some rival survival games that dump every menu on you at once.
- No forced ads 🎉: I never felt bombarded by pop-ups, and that alone puts it ahead of a lot of free mobile titles in this space.
- Smooth on modest hardware 📱: It ran fine on my older Android device, and it did not drain my battery the way State of Survival sometimes did.
cons
- Familiar formula 😐: If you have sunk time into State of Survival or Last Shelter: Survival, the core loop will feel very been-there, and the tile twist does not reinvent the wheel.
- Spending pressure later on 💸: The early game is generous, but once you hit a wall, the offers start looking tempting, and the $99 bundles are a reminder of where the monetization heads.
- Mobile only 🚫: There is no PC or console option, so if you prefer bigger screens like some rival titles offer through emulators, you are out of luck.

What Is an APK File for Android?
If you use an Android phone, you may have seen the term APK while searching for apps or games online. Some websites offer an APK download instead of a Google Play install button. Seedance 2.0 vs Sora: The Future of AI Video Generation
The AI video race has intensified dramatically over the past two years. Platforms like Sora from OpenAI and Luma Dream Machine pushed the boundaries of text-to-video realism. Yet, despite their impressive outputs, most tools still operate as probabilistic generators—you describe a scene, and the model interprets it. Control remains limited. With the February 2026 release of Seedance 2.0, developed by ByteDance, the paradigm shifted. Internally known as Jimeng 2.0, Seedance does not position itself as just another video model. It positions itself as an AI Director. Rather than guessing what you want, Seedance 2.0 allows you to direct what happens. This distinction defines everything that follows.
