Hide Ball: Brain Teaser Games is a puzzle game from HYPERCELL that I have been playing on my android phone for a few weeks now. It is a pure mobile game, so you will not find it on Steam, Xbox, or Switch. It first launched around 2022 and is available on Google Play Store and the App Store. The install count is huge, well over 50 million downloads, which shows how many people are hooked on this simple but tricky genre. You can download it for free, and it does have in app ads and in game purchases. Normally the purchases are for removing ads or getting hints, and they cost a few dollars each, usually between $2 and $10 depending on the bundle.

To play, you just tap the screen to move objects or hide the ball from obstacles. The best part is how the levels start easy and then slowly make you think harder. My favorite part is when I finally solve a level that looked impossible at first. It feels like a real brain workout without being too stressful. You do not need fast reflexes, just patience and a bit of logic. I often play for ten minutes while waiting for something, and it never gets boring. The game also has a nice minimal look, so it does not distract you with crazy graphics.

Compared to other puzzle games like Brain Out or Brain Test, Hide Ball feels more focused. Brain Out sometimes feels random, but Hide Ball has a clear goal in every level. I recommend it because it is easy to install on android, does not take much space, and you can play offline. Also, the ads are not too aggressive, which is rare for a free game on google play. If you like games that make you think but do not want a huge time commitment, this is a solid pick. I have tried similar games, and many of them push you to pay too early. Hide Ball gives you enough free levels to really enjoy the app before you decide to spend anything.

features

  • Simple tap controls 👆 You only need one finger to play, which makes it perfect for quick sessions on your phone.
  • Hundreds of levels 🧩 There are so many puzzles that you will not run out of content for a long time, unlike some smaller games that end in an hour.
  • Offline play 📴 You can enjoy it without Wi-Fi, which is great when you are traveling or have bad signal, something Brain Test does not always allow.
  • Minimal graphics 🎨 The clean look keeps your eyes on the puzzle instead of flashy effects, which helps you focus better than in Brain Out.

pros

  • Free to download and play 🆓 You can install it from google play without paying anything, and you still get a full experience with ads.
  • Great for short breaks ⏱️ Each level takes less than a minute, so it beats Brain Out when you only have a few minutes to spare.
  • Gradual difficulty curve 📈 The game teaches you the rules slowly, so you never feel lost, which is better than some puzzle games that throw you into hard levels right away.
  • Small file size 📱 It does not eat up much storage on your android device, so you can keep it even if your phone is full.

cons

  • Too many ads 📺 The free version shows ads between levels, and they can break your focus, especially compared to paid puzzle games with no interruptions.
  • Some levels feel unfair 😕 A few puzzles rely on guessing rather than logic, which is frustrating when you compare it to Brain Test where the rules are more consistent.
  • Hints cost money 💸 If you get stuck, you often have to pay or watch a long ad for a hint, while some similar games give you free hints daily.
  • Repetitive after a while 🔁 Once you play for a few hours, the puzzles start to feel similar, and it lacks the variety you find in games like Brain Out.
