So I have been messing around with Chibi Dolls Dress Up Makeover for a couple of weeks now, and it is basically a casual dress up and makeover game. The name of the game pretty much tells you everything. You get a bunch of chibi style characters, and you just go wild changing their outfits, hair, makeup, and accessories. It is a mobile game through and through. You will not find it on Steam, Xbox, or Switch. This one is built for phones and tablets. I grabbed it on the Google Play Store, but it is also on the App Store for iOS users. The game first launched back in 2021, and since then it has racked up millions of installs. That is a pretty solid number for a small studio like Squishy Game Studio. The best part is that it is free to download. You can install it and start playing without spending a dime. Of course, there are in game purchases. You can buy extra coins or special outfit packs. Those usually cost anywhere from a dollar to ten dollars, depending on what you want. There are also in app ads, mostly after you finish a look or when you want to unlock a specific item. It is not too aggressive, but they are there.

Playing this game is super simple. You pick a model, and then you scroll through tons of different categories. Tops, bottoms, dresses, shoes, hairstyles, and even little face expressions. You just tap what you like, and it goes right onto the doll. The best part of this game is how relaxing it is. There is no timer, no pressure, and no way to lose. You just create. My favorite part is probably the makeup section. You can change the blush, the eyeshadow, and even the lip color. It feels like you are a digital stylist without any stress. I also like that you can save your creations and come back to them later. That is a small thing, but it makes the app feel more personal. The controls are easy enough for anyone to pick up. My little cousin tried it and figured it out in like two minutes. So if you want something mindless and cute, this is a good pick.

Now, compared to other dress up games like Love Nikki or Shining Nikki, this one is way more casual. Those games have huge stories, complex scoring systems, and events that require serious grinding. Chibi Dolls Dress Up Makeover does not do any of that. It is just pure creative play. That is why I recommend it. Sometimes you do not want a second job in a game. You just want to put a cute hat on a cute character and feel happy. The art style is also different. It is more cartoonish and chibi, which makes it feel lighthearted. If you have played other makeover games on android, you know some of them are full of pop ups and energy systems. This one is much simpler. So if you are looking for a chill dress up game on google play, this one is worth a download. Just do not expect deep gameplay. Expect cute outfits and a nice way to kill twenty minutes.

features

  • Massive wardrobe options 👗 You get hundreds of clothing items, and new ones get added sometimes, so you rarely run out of combinations.
  • No energy system 🎉 Unlike Love Nikki, you can play as long as you want without waiting for stamina to refill.
  • Simple one tap controls 👆 Everything is drag and tap, so you do not need a tutorial to understand how to play.
  • Offline mode works 📴 You can play without wifi, which is great for waiting rooms or boring commutes.

pros

  • Zero pressure creativity 😌 There is no score, no judge, and no wrong answer. You just make what you like.
  • Great for short sessions ⏱️ Compared to Shining Nikki, you can open this app for five minutes and still feel like you did something fun.
  • Adorable art style 🎨 The chibi designs are genuinely cute, and the colors are bright without being harsh on your eyes.
  • Free to start 🆓 You can download and install it without paying, and the free items are enough to make plenty of looks.

cons

  • Ads can interrupt 😒 They pop up after you finish a look, which breaks the flow sometimes.
  • Limited story 📖 Compared to Love Nikki, there is no real plot or goal, so it can feel repetitive after a while.
  • In app purchases add up 💸 If you want the best outfits, you will need to spend real money, and it is not cheap for a casual app.
  • Not much challenge 🧩 If you want scoring or competition, this game will bore you fast because there is nothing to win.
