So I have sunk way too many hours into Who is? Brain Teaser & Riddles on my Android phone, and honestly, it is one of those hidden gems on the Google Play Store that you do not expect to grab you this hard. It is a pure puzzle and brain teaser game, designed specifically for mobile, so there is no PC or Steam version floating around, and you won't find it on Xbox or Switch either. The app first launched a while back and has quietly racked up over 10 million installs, which tells you it has a solid fanbase. It is completely free to download and play, but yeah, there are in-app purchases and ads, which is the usual trade-off. The ads pop up occasionally, and you can pay a few bucks, like $2.99 to $4.99, to remove them permanently if you are like me and get annoyed by interruptions during a tricky riddle. For a free app though, the content is surprisingly deep and polished.

When you actually get into the gameplay, it is not your typical trivia or word puzzle. The genius part is how the game makes you think outside the box. Each level presents a scenario or a seemingly simple question, and you have to figure out the trick or the hidden meaning behind it. The best part is that it messes with your head in a way that feels rewarding once you finally get it. My favorite part is the "logic" puzzles that seem impossible until you realize you have been overthinking them the whole time. You can play it in short bursts, like during a commute or waiting in line, because each riddle takes maybe two or three minutes to crack. The interface is clean, and the hints system is fair, so even when you are stuck, you are not completely lost, which keeps the frustration level manageable.

Compared to other brain teaser games on the app, like Brain Out or Riddle King, this one feels more structured and less chaotic. Brain Out is fun but it can be too random, relying on silly pranks rather than actual riddles. Who is? focuses more on wordplay, lateral thinking, and classic brain teasers, which I find more satisfying. If you are someone who enjoys a mental challenge that does not require fast reflexes or twitchy controls, this is a solid pick. I have tried a lot of puzzle apps on the Google Play Store, and this one stands out because it respects your intelligence while still keeping things fun. If you are into riddles and want something you can download and install on your phone without any hassle, just give it a shot. It is one of those apps you will keep coming back to, even after you finish all the levels.

features

  • Visual trickery 🧠 - This game excels at hiding clues in plain sight, something Brain Out does too, but here the visual puzzles are way more clever and less random, making you feel smart when you spot the pattern.
  • Riddle variety 📚 - Unlike Riddle King which gets repetitive with similar question types, this app mixes lateral thinking, math, and observation puzzles so seamlessly that you never know what is coming next.
  • Hint system 💡 - The hint system is better than most similar apps because it does not give away the answer instantly. It nudges you in the right direction, so you still get that "aha" moment without feeling cheated.
  • Offline mode 📴 - You can play this without an internet connection, which is great for airplane rides or when you do not want to deal with ads. Other games like Brain Out force you online, which is annoying.

pros

  • Brain-bending challenge 🎯 - The puzzles are actually hard, unlike many mobile games that treat you like a beginner. It took me days to solve some levels, and that sense of achievement is unbeatable compared to the shallow puzzles in Brain Out.
  • Replay value 🔁 - Even after solving a riddle, I found myself going back to test friends or just to enjoy the cleverness of the solution. You will not get that from Riddle King, which feels one-and-done.
  • User-friendly design 📱 - The app runs smoothly on my older Android device without lag, and the touch controls are intuitive. Some puzzle apps crash or glitch, but this one is stable, which makes the overall experience a lot better.
  • Regular updates 🔄 - The developers actually listen to feedback and add new levels. I have seen the app grow from a small collection to a massive library over time, which keeps the experience fresh and worth the download.

cons

  • Intrusive ads 📢 - The ads are the biggest downside. They pop up between levels way too often, even compared to Brain Out which also has them. You can remove them with a purchase, but it feels pushy for a puzzle game.
  • Too many subjective riddles 🤔 - Some questions rely on puns or wordplay that do not translate well across languages or cultures. I have had to look up answers, which is something I rarely need to do with more logic-based games like Riddle King.
  • Hint system limits ❌ - You can only use a certain number of hints per level, and when you are truly stuck, it can force you to watch extra ads to get more. That is frustrating, especially when you are so close to the answer.
